Salvation

You might ask, what is it that I need to be saved from?

Scripture teaches that the wages of sin is death. This is found in Romans 6:23, this is not the death of our mortal bodies, but our immortal souls. This death is total separation from God, and eternal punishment in the literal fires of hell. The Bible also teaches that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God. This is found in Romans 3:23, so far this sounds pretty hopeless right? If it stopped there it would be just that, hopeless. Praise God, it doesn't, in fact here is what can be a new beginning! John 3:16 tells us that God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him, should NOT perish, but have everlasting life. God gave His son Jesus Christ to die in our place. Not just my place but whosoever means everyone. That means you! It does not matter what you have done or where you have been, God loves you and wants you to be saved and live eternally with Him in heaven. This means that the price, which is death, has already been paid; it was given as a gift from God. What makes a gift, a gift is not only the giving, but it must also be received. To receive this gift you must only believe, confess your sins, and turn from the sins of your past. 1st John 1:9 tells us that If we confess our sins, He or(God) is faithful and just to forgive us and cleans us from all unrighteousness. That is a promise from God!
